The writer was born in Cork in 1942 and in 1982 won the Arlen House/Maxwell House award and an Art's Council Bursary. In 1985 she won the Patrick Kavanagh award and has been published in Irish, British and American periodicals. According to Eavan Boland 'These are poems which have a consistent authority.'
